One of the many problems with babies is they just don't understand your very valid complaints towards them

So, as any sane person would do, I started a journal last month. As an outlet to "talk" to my daughter every day, in the hopes I'll not only have something I can share with her over a beer when she's old enough (or nearly old enough and her mom's out of town), but also as a record of how fucking painful this process has been.

I'm not complaining, mind you, I just don't want to enter la-la land and talk about how great our kid was at this stage like every other parent does after a year or two. I want to remember, damn it. So I use this:

I really can't say enough great things about Day One. Not only is it a drop-dead beautifully designed app, it uses Dropbox to seamlessly flow entries between my iPhone, iPad and Mac - I use them all to jot down quick "WTF moments" or long tirades on how I'm convinced she's trying to kill us on a daily basis. And I'm pretty sure using it as an outlet is helping to retain the last chunk of sanity left in my hollowed body.
